I'm about to do the same thing to mine. I was just going to mail it back to Spikes and pay them $75, unless I can get it done locally....but haven't looked around yet.

$150 seems a bit steep for a LPK but are the components worth the extra money? I don't mind spending money for quality but just don't want to throw the money at something that has the word "enhanced" tagged onto it.
Id buy a Colt Lower Parts Kit for $180 from Grant before Id pay $150 for a Spikes.
I have one in my Spike's lower and I like it. Single stage trigger. Moly coated. KNS pins...etc.
i've seen rra 2 stage kits go for $190, so someone educate me as to why i wouldn't want to go that route before i buy something i'll regret
I'll take a WOA or G&R LPK, and put the rest towards a Geissele SSA.
I have no intention of spending over $100 on an LPK unless it's for a registered MG.

Not worth it.
It's like the folks who buy expensive cars - they enjoy driving something top tier, even if they really can't exploit the difference.
If a $60 kit and $35 Thompson trigger job will do nicely, does another $100 make it twice as nice? The consensus is no, it doesn't, it can only offer another incremental increase at best.
Costs above the median usually can only offer small benefits in actual performance, and do so in geometric progression. If a $200 barrel can get you 1MOA ( and they do these days ), a $400 barrel will only get 1/2MOA.
Ammo has even less return, .30-30 for $10 a box, or .30-30 Leverevolution for $24? It won't cut bullet drop in half, nor is it twice as fast. It's just some better.
What is really humbling is that the more spent, the less the individual is likely to be able to use the difference. Many simply don't have the skill. It takes being a top 2% competitor to demonstrate it.
Remove the KAC quad rail, and the issue M4 is just a well built $800 gun. I don't see how another $800 nets twice the performance.
So all the extra expense is largely ego enhancement. Still, it's cheaper than herbal supplements and can be publicly displayed at ranges.![]()
Anyone know who makes the kit for Spike's ?
