Only advantage??? Search thru the forum for Aimpoint info and be educated. Besides battery life, durability for an Aimpoint is extreme. Eotech as well as none of the low cost, chi com knockoff products even come close.
Take a look at this video and then try it with the Lucid:

Aimpoint also sells a Killflash unit for the 30mm models such as the M4.

I have done 2 tours with the CompM4 mounted on my M4 rifle, so I think I have enough experience and education with the device. And the kill flash which is on my Aimpoint as I write this, in Afghanistan, only helps stop the reflection off the glass, it does nothing from stopping the red dot from being visible. But what do I know.
An Aimpoint's signature when viewed from the front will never be the thing that leads to the detection of a dismounted element. Period. I'm not talking about the reflection off the glass.

No, I completely agree with you. My original comment was in response to tirod who said that an optic wasn't combat capable unless the red dot couldn't be seen. I disagree with that. But I also disagree with people who say that Aimpoints are the end all beat all. Wow, you can scuba dive with one and it will still work. The only times I've seen M4's submersed in any large volumes of water it has been from MRAP's rolling off cliffs into rivers, doesn't do any good if your sight works under water but your lungs don't. But I am not knocking them either, mine has never failed me, and I have never replaced the battery, but am I going to put one on my personal AR? Hell no, way too much money, and there isn't a damn thing I would do with my personal rifle that a Lucid HD7 couldn't handle.
