That is part of the requirement.
Ah ha! Got it! That makes more sense. Thanks for all the help fellas! I have one more inquiry. When I took my M4 in to get the BC 1 installed the smith installed it upside down. I asked and he said it's so the gases escape up to keep the muzzle down. It clearly states in the directions to have the emblem facing up so that's what I made him do. Does anybody have it installed upside down? If so do you notice any difference?

Yes, you. Your gunsmith was correct.

I suspect you will notice a tremendous difference and the blast out the vents will make your barrel flip up.

Logo definitely goes down at the 6 o'clock position. BBJones13 is correct.

    My feelings exactly.

Props to BCE - I was never the least bit interested in special muzzle devices until I stumbled upon this thread. Looks like a real winner!

Then why do the instructions read to have the symbol facing up?

Possibly because the location of the logo was changed without the corresponding change to the directions. Or perhaps the directions were simply written incorrectly. It happens.

Knowing whats right, regardless of written directions, is part of what one is buying when retaining the services of a professional gunsmith. One should trust their gunsmith's judgement. If you don't trust the man's judgement, why would you give him your gun?

The instructions say it goes on the bottom. I'm just a moron that thought it just looked right on top and that is what my mind read the directions as. It's weird because I was so sure of it. Eh, we all make mistakes.

It was only my 2nd time going to the guy and like I said I was just so sure in my mind it went on top. And he was such a nice/good guy and didn't argue with me. I should have just done it myself but it's my first M4 so I didn't want to mess anything up. That was before I got on this forum and realized there is a lot of help out there.

Looks like I'm an idiot as well. I don't know why I was thinking this label was upward facing.

Hey Marty, how long before we see BC 2.0 for a 14.5" barrel, say a BC 2.5 or something?
