all the testimonials have me interested. I cant seem to find a 1.0 in stock anywhere but I found some 2.0 in stock. I suppose that will suffice even though I wont use a suppressor. Would this be ok? The performance between the 1.0 and 2.0 are similar correct?

Performance of the 1.0 and 2.0 is identical. The differences between the two are external only to allow the 2.0 to be suppressor compatible.

thanks marty for the prompt response.
I checked on BCMs website 1.0 is OOS![]()
Finally broke down today and ordered a 1.0 black oxide for my bcm lw middy......should be here later this week.
Shot the new 5.56 AR w/20" bbl and BC 1.0 and the 7.62x51 Para with 18" bbl and BABC yesterday at the local indoor range.
There is a bit more side blast from both models than would be normal with a bare muzzle (no device) and can be felt at an angle further back. The compression wave is softer and seems to be bit longer in duration. Compared to other muzzle brakes (post ban models mounted on 7.62x51 battle rifles) I've experienced in the past and the A2 birdcage, the compression wave of the Battlecomps is much much softer and feels to be of a longer duration. It washes over you instead giving you a slap.
The first time my son fired the AR, he stopped and looked at me asking "What recoil?" The AR is a precision build and I'd guess it's weigh to be around 10-12 lbs.
I cannot comment on how the side blast of the BABC compares to the Fal Belgium combo device as I did not take note of how the Belgium's side blast the few times the Para was shot with it mounted. The eight vents of the Belgium exit the sides at a forward angle and do not direct the blast directly to the side. Muzzle rise with the BABC is significantly reduced compared to the Belgium combo device.
During this range session, firing the BABC equipped Para did get the attention of the other shooters. They asked my son what it was I was shooting and they commented on the muzzle blast. Nothing negative nor were complaints made, but they were impressed. That may have been because I was shooting 308 as shooting the AR raised no comments or notice. My son did tell me he could feel the compression wave of the 308 even behind the firing line.
I am not a fan of muzzle brakes as I think they are too loud and obnoxious. However, it seems BCE has a winner. Muzzle rise is reduced and recoil feels smoother with both models while it seems no louder and side blast is softened. Not only are these brakes I can live with, but I actually like them
