    Hey Marty,

In an earlier post, there was a question as to how accurate a rifle or carbine might be with a Battlecomp. While my shooting isn't the best, I thought I'd post a picture of a 30 shot group I fired from my "hand select custom" precision AR from the bench at 100 yards.

As you can see from the groups within the group, the rifle is capable of much better. The inconsistency, I'm sure, is due to me. X ring of this target measures 3" across. Scope is a 10x Leupold Mark 4

Here's a picture of a group fired from my Para FAL equipped with the TROS adapter and BABC. Again, shot from the bench at 100 yards using the same type target. The five shots clustered in the X ring were fired after walking the shots across the target while sighting in and making the final sight adjustments. The Para uses an aperture type battle sight

Groups aren't Molon quality, but I'm satisfied and I'm especially pleased with the five shots in the X ring from the Para.

I'm not seeing anything yet that points to the Battlecomp compromising accuracy. Truth be told, I took less a beating from the Para at the bench than I thought I would, which helped me shoot better

    Great post Mistwolf
Can you tell us more about the Battle Comp on the FAL?

    Recoil reduction?

Flash comparison compared to the FAL Combi Device?

Compared to the Belgian device, muzzle rise is less. Recoil was about the same but felt smoother. To be honest, I thought I'd really dislike the Belgian device, but it wasn't bad at all with side blast. It's holes are angled forward instead of directly to the side.

I haven't paid attention to the muzzle flash of either device while someone else has been shooting the FAL. As sweet a gal the Para is, everyone heads straight for the M14.

This last trip, I had the wrong gas plug installed on the Para. It was shorter than the Steyr plug this system was designed to run with. Rifle went from running with the gas regulator needing to be about half open to running with it wide full open and still flinging brass past the next county and into the Puget Sound. Recoil felt sharper than normal as a result. Even so, recoil was more straight back.

When I get a chance, I'll try to set up a session that I can try the Belgian device back to back against the BABC. I'll try to leave the M14 home so I can get my son to shoot the FAL while I observe how it performs

Any chance you will be doing a battle comp 2.0 in matte stainless? I haven't seen one on the web site for sale yet.

Regarding matte stainless 2.0 versions, put a request in to Alan through our website and we'll see what we can do to accomodate you. Thanks!

Question: If I have a 14.5 barrel with a perm Battle Comp, what are my options, if any, for using a suppressor in the future?

I wouldn't do it. But, if you do I believe that one of the BC's will work with some Gemtech models. I am pretty sure it has been discussed in this thread.

I've never felt that FALs had bad recoil, but that was b/c for years it was the softest shooting rifle I ever had, but I was hoping maybe the Battle Comp reduced flash significantly with the added bonus of some reduced muzzle rise.

At this time I do not think there are any BC's that will simultaneously make a 14.5" into 16"+ and accept a can.

The 2.0 will accept all cans designed for A2 FH's but the 2.0 will not be long enough to make a 14.5" long enough to not be an SBR.
