I believe any comp longer than the current A2/2.0 will not fit properly as there is an internal step/wall in the primary blast chamber that the nose of the comp rests against, the depth of which is dimensioned to accomodate the standard A2 sized devices. There might be a suppressor that a A2X/1.5 length device might work, I just haven't seen any in person.

THANK YOU!!! You guys are awesome. I never would have thought you would do something for the AK with all the demand for your already existing models.

7.62x39 14x1LH? optimized for 7.62x39 rather than .308? Will it be shorter/lighter than the BABC?

I am very close to your shop. I would be happy to test drive a prototype.

The AK version will be 14-1mm LH and optimized for the 7.62x39 round. I'm not sure what the final footprint will be at this point. It may or may not be shorter than the current BABC, CFD and field testing will drive the design. We will be looking for beta testers. If you are in the SF bay area you might want to contact Alan or Nick about this.

Installation of my Battle Comp 1.0:

OK everyone, I just put the thing on. I do not have a vice set up in my new house yet, so I just wrestled it on. It needed about 1/2 turn to clock properly on the crush washer. It took a little elbow grease, but was manageable.

As mentioned in an earlier post by someone else, I used a 19mm open end wrench lined with scotch tape. It worked perfectly and did not leave a scratch. Might as well have been a pro install. Thanks for the good advice everyone.

This is absolutely doable in-house. You must just be careful, and use the correct tools. If you change your own oil, you can do this.

I can't wait to get out and try the thing next weekend. It's too late to drive to the range today... Bummer.

This is not the first time I've read about people saying to offset it for timing...
Marty, is there any truth to this?

I've heard this as well. All things being equal, there should be no reason to offset a symetrical device. It could be any number of factors from operator technique to something mechanical related to specific rifles. During testing with a variety of platforms and operators we did not see this artifact. However, at a recent demo I saw a particular case where a rifle was seen to move very slightly to the right for one shooter, then move very slightly to the left for another shooter. Same rifle, same ammo, same environmental conditions, shooting 2 minutes apart, just different shooters. I leave speculation as to the answer to you good folks.

By the way, it is perfectly acceptable to clock the BC to either side of 6 o'clock (to a limited degree) to suit your specific requirements. It won't degrade the overall performance of the device.

    Thanks for the honest response.
I'm looking forward to trying mine out since I finally got around to installing it.

When you guys do a 24mm x 1.5mm RH thread I'd like to run one. This AK74 brake on my Arsenal SLR-106 5.56mm is very effective but DAMN loud!

Are you certain the thread pitch is 24mm x 1.5mm? Seems rather large for a 5.45mm barrel.
