Need some help on an MP5 clone

I'm considering this for my next purchase:

    http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/storeproduct941.aspx

Don't know too much about it, but I've always wanted an MP5, but am not willing to spend 5-10 grand on a weapon that would just sit in the safe most of the time.

Any comments, help, concerns would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

That right there is enough for me to say no, I personally wouldn't buy one.

If you really want a 9mm MP5 clone, get one of the MKE guns. They cannot take sears and go full auto though. 1200$ will not even get you an MP5 parts kit....

    Google MKE 94p...

They sell pistols without the 16 inch barrel too.

Hmmm, I thought they dicked up the Turkish guns significantly that they wouldn't take a real buttstock, or is that the carbine I'm thinking of?

And to add....there really isn't a cheap alternative for a HK MP-5 clone. Not one that works, anyway.

I know it's not a MP-5 and you can't get your Die Hard on with it, but if you really want a quality 9mm carbine, I'd get a Colt 6450, or an IMI UZI.

I looked into that and decided against it due to the blowback design. If I'm getting an MP5 clone I want it to work like the real deal. I believe the blowback design would really increase recoil.

I think you'd be better off with the Vector Arms version. This way you could do your SBR paperwork and remove the barrel extension.

    Or go with these guys...

After looking at the options, I decided that if I really wanted a 9mm SBR, I'd be better off getting an AR platform gun. Otherwise I might end up with an expensive safe queen.

They cannot take a Full auto BCG from what I have read. If you have a larger budget I know that there are some more expensive clones in the 2300$ arena that are very well made.

Chopstix Kid on HKpro (Dakota Tactical) makes them.

Yeah, thanks. Another member sent me an e-mail stating this isn't even a clone as the internals are vastly different.

Bummer, maybe one day I'll drop 5K on an Mp5, but that day is not coming any time soon.

The mp5-K/sp89 sized guns do not take the full size stocks if that is what you mean?

The MKE guns are high quality clones, but they cannot take sears and in many people's eyes that is a big problem. I dobut the OP has that problem if he was trying to buy the blowback one though...

If you get an MKE gun you will be happy. If you want full auto someday save a little more and get the 2nd clone I linked above.

You probably do not want a 9mm AR, and an MP5 clone is 7x the gun an UZI is.
