New upper I've been working on (still in progress)

Cross posting from another board but figure I'd throw this up here.

Okay guys...after much debate and talking to some ppl to try and help me decide this is what I have went w/ so far.

    The specs as is are:

14.5" barrel 1/9 (unknown make....although I bought it new and got it dirt cheap )
    Phantom 5C2
    DD 12.0
    TD VFG
    COLT BCG
(I borrowed the charging handle from my other upper )

The 5C2 still needs perm. attached and the rail is not torqued properly right now.

I shaved down the FSB (not pictured under the rail as I haven't put it back on yet)

The rest of the plans are as follows

    GRSC 1-4 Optic
    TD rail covers
    Charging handle
    Troy front and rear BUIS
    DD QD Swivel for sling
    Vickers Coyote sling
No plans for a light as this will not be my bump in the night weapon.

I think I'm gonna FDE this whole upper and then get a Magpul lower.

    For the lower plans....

FDE the lower but leave the Magpul logo black.
Either a UBR or SOPMOD (haven't decided yet) stock
And yes I'm gonna try the MIAD grip. I love the G27 but I have yet to try the MIAD.

Anyways...here are the pics so far. The upper will be getting sent off soon to get the 5C2 perm. attached.

I also still need to paint the gas block (it's very ugly right now).

BTW My fiance is napping right now so I had to take these pics in the kitchen. I have a studio apt. for the time being so I can't exactly be noisy right now. Therefore sorry for the quality of the pics. I just couldn't resist taking some though.

Welllllll....I don't need the T-Scope but if it's an SPR-E mount sized for 30mm optics lemme know.

Wasn't planning on purchasing it this quick but if the price is right I might swing for it now.

Thanks. I sold the KX3....couldn't bring myself to put it on. After playing w/ the KX3 on a 14.5" it was wayyyyyy too front heavy. My original plan was to cut it down to 13.7 and throw on the KX3....however it still wouldn't have made much of a difference IMO. Also on a 14.5 a KX3 really isn't needed. W/ that said a KX3 is still in my goals along w/ a 10.5" SBR once I move out of the People's Republik of Illinoisistan.

Hey, don't go telling people they don't need KX3s on 14.5" and larger guns. I think I saw one on an 18" not too long ago...
