My BCM SBR lower came registered with a BBL length of 10.5" I have an LMT SBR 10 with that BBL on it but plan to put a BCM 11.5" BBL upper on the BCM Lower, it's an inch longer do I need to notify ATF of my desire to use a BBL an inch longer?

When I spoke to ATF about a registered machinegun lower I wanted to find out about overall length. I was told, over the phone, the BBL length did not matter because it was a machine gun lower. Is it the same for the SBR? Thanks.

From what Ive gathered you need to send a letter to the ATF stating you will have a different barrel length. Wont be an issue as long as your "default" barrel length is the one on your Form 1/4. In other words just keep your 12.5" barrel handy.
