Excellent! So the scope held a zero well I'm assuming. Good so far. When do you plan on putting it through that torture test?

It held zero perfect and the MOA knobs worked perfect ( could have been more audible) but still worked very well. Give me time. This weekend it's going swimming and then to the north (frig about 40 degrees over night). I want to unmount it and then after the swim and ski trip remount it and see if it holds zero. If not I think very little adjustment will be needed.

The zero lock worked great though. I'm going to keep it zeroed for 75 gr and adjust for 77gr until I start reloading straight 77grain. I did shoot at the 560 yrd gong and I'm not sure if I hit or not. I did not have a spotter and with all the other guns going off including a 50 cal Barrett I did see the wet dirt fly up once.

It had been dry I could have seen point of impact by myself but at that distance on a wet day it's to hard without a spotter. for the money you can't beat it. Trust me if it were a piece of crap you would see a pic of me shooting it with the M4 pictured in the bottom of the pic

I'm thinking this will be my next purchase as well. I saw some reviews from some guys on You Tube and I'm sold.

I was looking at going with an EOTECH, being the most dependable/best bang for the buck OPTICS out there, but, it has no magnification, which was the only thing discouraging me.

My budget is quite strict, not even knowing when I will get the CMR, but right now, it is the scope that I have my sights on.

    Happy 4th everyone.

I would hardly say Eotechs are the most rugged optic out there. A scope and a RDS are used for different things. Buy an optic based on what you need it for. The vari scopes are nice, but you need to understand they are a compromise.

I've seen the Youtube videos. Anyone who would put a scope into a mount about 4-5" above the bore and not speak a word of mechanical offset probably isn't giving the best advice.

The CMR is a good scope, but IMO better suited for 25 yards and beyond. It has some scope shadow issues, without practice it will slow you down up close.

Well, the YT video I was speaking of didn't commit the horrible blunder you speak of

I have 2 solutions for closer range.
    1: (gasp) a Laser
I still believe a laser is perfect for inside of 10yds.
For some reason, I am led to believe (by certain posting comments here and there at M4C) that a "laser" is not really appreciated to the point I think it should be.

2: I can't exactly tell you here and now, but I HOPE to SHOW you soon in a picture. It is similar to the setup with the glass on top and you "roll" the rifle to the left to use the CCO/reflex.
Now, it is not exactly like that. I will not have to "roll" the rifle with the setup I have in mind. But, I do not have the optics yet to put my theory to the test. I am leery of the "roll" of the AR due to the trajectory factor. Though, this may be insignificant at close range.
Also, I have yet to see anyone using the setup I have in mind.

    And the EOTECH comment;
IMO, EOTECH is the "best" you're going to buy for that kind of money. Of course, I would LOVE to be proved wrong on this one
But everyone keeps telling me if you want a GOOD scope/CCO then you are going to have to pay for it. That is also what I was driving at.

I have a Tasco red dot scope. I've put a couple hundred rounds through it. I believe it is about $40 at Wal-Mart
But I don't want to bet my life on it. That is why I made the comment about the EOTECH.

I used a ADM extra extended mount. It always seem people use the scope at the same posistion regardless of which mount they chose. Some will opt for the standard extended mount but mount the scope within it as far forward as it will go, to the point where the turrents are not centered between the rings. I never understood that. But I digress...

But alas, I'm selling my CMR on eBay, just got way to good of a deal on a Trijicon TR24G to pass up...
