    Anybody ever read...?

Did any of you ever read First Blood, by David Morrell?

In that book, Rambo is the original badass. Everyone he wounded in the movie, he killed in the book. And, there never could have been any more movies or books, 'cause he gets killed in the end.

David Morrell is a great writer. If you want to read a good book, give First Blood a read, you might be impressed.

The original cut of Rambo had the Col. shooting Rambo. In effect, he had to destroy his own creation.

On to Stallone. He did not run to Canada. He ran to Switzerland, and attended the American University there. He also attended the University of Miami during Vietnam.
They had no right to win. Yet they did, and in doing so they changed the course of a war...even against the greatest of odds, there is something in the human spirit - a magic blend of skill, faith and valor - that can lift men from certain defeat to incredible victory.

First Blood the book was an interesting read, but the gun stuff was horrible. Where the book totally whipped the movie was the conflict between Rambo and Teasle (the sheriff). Teasle was a Marine and Korean War vet and was more of a sympathetic character. In the movie you can see some decorations on his desk but it is so subtle as to go almost unnoticed.

When I watch those movies, I think everyone should have their own Trautman. Everywhere you go, work, family reunions, you need a guy to come out of the woodwork and tell everyone you are the best, that you are unstoppable and ANY resistance is pointless. But that's just me.
Don't forget to show my head to the people. It's well worth seeing.

Same here. I'll just wait until it's shown on cable (not PPV either).
