If you want to go lightweight or colorful, how about a Calvary Arms lower?

Hahaha...I kind of want to build one of these as a "loaner" for when I take friends shooting...what do these run normally?

Calvary Arms is out of the lower business but a lot of their lowers are still in stock at various resellers. The only one I remember off the top of my head is Brownells and I think they are $140 wholesale there. Plus LPK of your choice.

FWIW, I just picked up a Spikes Gen 1 lower for $65. The machining and finish looks very good. Plan to build it out using either a DD or GR tactical lower parts kit and most likely a DD or BCM upper.

I really love the fit and finish on the Noveske lowers.

I also have a Sun Devil FDE upper / lower combo and it is such a tight and exact fit on the upper and lower the idea of the set screw is kinda funny. Needed to blend the magwell a bit for Pmags, but the rifle turned out amazing and is one of my absolute favorite shooters.

I personally have had great luck w/ Tactical Machining stripped lowers. They are out of FL and are very CA friendly. Of 8 lowers I have built including a .308 (DPMS pattern) and a few for friends (all TM) not a single problem with any of them. A .223/5.56 lower runs about $100 with $10 shipping. The rest as far as tax and DROS is up to which FFL you chose to use. BTW they come with their own TM enhanced/winter trigger guard. Hope this helps. Mike (another poor sap living in comiefornia)
