In a lifetime far far away....

Many years ago, I invited a friend over to hear a new 'reccerd' I had bought. I had no idea what it was. I listened to it and thought man, this is something serious. It was Bob Marley Exodus. He listened and flipped. So he calls a friend, you have to hear this.

You can guess the rest. The funny thing is his friend used to work in a recording studio. Back around the time the Allman Bros, Bruce Springsteen, Manfred Mann, John McLaughlin, Narada Michael Walden.etc.. all that sort of thing was going on. So we got to know each other, and he brings a record over that he worked on at Alpha Audio here in town. Richmond VA was not known for recording studios.

He played this version of Dixie..... Unbelievable. A black man plays the best version of Dixie most have ever heard and guess what.. All of us redneck whiteys loved it. We didn't like it because it was black or white. We loved it because it was badass and he was cool enough to go there. No questions, no comments, no observations beyond... damn! that is cool.

This is 40 years old ...

What is my point? Any man or woman that applies themselves can achieve great things and have been able to do so for a long time. David Sancious is without peer.

There are times in my mis-spent youth that I felt like this.
"We prepare, so we don't end up at the superdome"- unknown

"IMHO, if you wanted to shoot crap ammo, you should have bought a crap upper. It makes baby Jesus cry when he sees crap ammo put through a nice upper."- C4IGrant
