Call me crazy, I like a wide range of music but I'm mostly a rocker. Prog to New age, 90s to Indie.
And yet I have completely fallen for "Old Time" Mountain music. Clawhammer guitars and banjos, predates bluegrass.
Molly Tuttle being one of my favorite new artists:

And some clawhammer banjo.

And some technique for those who are curious:

And she is a flatpicking maestro! This is not your mean uncle's country or bluegrass. Listen to this one if unconvinced.

If you have ever played guitar this will make you recognize how inadequate you are and at the same time make you want to play.
And four new up-and-coming female artists do a completely new acoustic take on Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain":

One of these ladies, Brandi Carlile, is nominally new country, but covers Led Zeppelin, the Cars, Cindy Lauper and similar in her concerts.
I'm not into country. Don't like most bluegrass. But the mountain music has caught my interest, and there are a bunch of really talented people I have not heard of before.
Well guys I sure didn't mean to kill the thread by introducing mountain music...
In pennance I have:
- listened to houses of the holy, forward then backwards
- Let Tool get me Sober
- Metalicca / Metallica
- repeated doses of Rush Moving Pictures
- heavy application of bootleg Pearl Jam, including covers of the who
- Jammed with Jimi- voodoo chile then Are you Experienced.
- Then SRV cover of Voodoo Chile
- Pink Floyd-o-thon DSOM and WYWH, headphones and the lights off
- went Everlong and Times Like These with the FooFighters (and a "Have a Cigar" cover)
- got Paranoid with Ozzie
- Slashed with Sweet Child of Mine, both orig and Bavarian version
- wrapped it up with some Third Eye blind
Don't know what else to do... I draw the line at Green Day
**** Green Day.
Tomorrows work rotation will surely involve Machine Head. And 16 volt.
Who knows what Tuesday may bring, maybe CCR and the Doors...
Or Lard. Been on an industrial kick lately.
You know what I like best about most people?

The new Beatles Abbey Road 2019 remix sounds incredible, maybe not as transformative as the Sgt Pepper 2017 remix, but still worth the money
