I want to thank Lee Greenwood for this great American song. I was an Infantry Drill Sgt, at Ft Benning Ga during Desert Storm, and we took the privates to see him perform in a hangar. To hear a couple thousand American troops (and Lee) singing this song live... one of the most awesome experiences of my 28 year career... no, my life. This remake is outstanding.

Been going back to some 70s/80s. "Leaving On A Jet Plane" - John Denver & Cass Elliot

Denver was sorta packaged in a hockie way, and some of his stuff was a tad hokie, but he also wrote some of the most beautiful songs and was one of the most prolific song writers of his time for other artists. This song always makes me seemly deeply melancholy, but it's so pretty a song I don't care. What Cass says seems like right out of today's issues does it not? Yes, shit never really changes...
