Light mount is to far back. You will not be happy with a 180 degree blind spot. Never really understood wanting to have a flash light on a shotgun anyway. If you only want a side saddle, check out Mesa Tactical. I ditched my Sidearmor Rail after a month and I didn't get it at brother-in-law pricing.

Howdy, I actually have one on my M1014 and it is great. Once you pick up the thing a few times you forget it's there. I have the forward tri-rail. It stays in place as well when firing. Just make sure you get a light that can handle the abuse. It's a good rail for the money. I recommend it. I also have the Mesa Tactical SideSaddle and that is another great piece of kit.

Agree with that statement, especially if the light is on the left hand side of the weapon and the shooter is predominantly right handed. You will get a nasty shadow right across the target.

Never really understood wanting to have a flash light on a shotgun anyway.
oooooook? Why would you NOT want a flashlight on a weapon that could be used in low/no light conditions in a self defense situation? This statement makes no sense at all and frankly conveys your ignorance on the subject.

You ditched your what? Your Mesa Tactical side saddle or your Sidearmor Rail? Your post is very confusing. Do you actually have experience with the Sidearmor system?

It conveys my opinion. The design of the Sidearmor Rail is not condusive to proper use of a weapon light. The light is mounted to far rearward. I ditched my Sidearmor Rail because I thought it sucked. As to your first question, a weapon light becomes irrelevant when I turn the lights on...

I am having trouble following your reasoning on this. No weapon light or simply turning on lights is tactically unsound. What training have you received that led you to this conclusion? If you have come to this conclusion on your own you may want to get some instruction from a reputable trainer who includes low light shooting as part of the cirriculum. Or if there is a trainer out there who is suggesting turning lights on rather than having a weapon light I would be curious to hear who they are and what their basis is for this.

I use the Sidearmor rail and side saddle on my M4 and in my opinion, it is the best system for this shotgun. I looked into Mesa Tactical and some other brands but I couldn't find a system that had the fit, finish and quality of the sidearmor rig. I researched various other options and nothing seemed to be as complete as this system. I mounted a Surefire X300 on the left side rail and it works perfectly for my needs. I'll take some pictures and post when I get a chance.

I already said that I agreed with you as to the light placement. If you would have actually read my post you would have gathered that.

As to your "a weapon light becomes irrelevant when I turn the lights on", Sir, with all due respect, that conveys to me that you are in fact completely ignorant as to modern low/no light techniques. I would highly suggest that at a minimum you spend some time reading in the "training and tactics" and more so please find a decent trainer and take a class in the subject.
