Contact Brian Sain (brian@americansnipers.org) and since you are a serving member he can probably hook you up with more particulars.

AmericanSnipers does their best to try and keep people from getting into hot water by making requests for equipment.

Everything I have ever heard about AS.org has been 100% positive. I've never even heard a whiff of scandal about them, and lots of people looked really hard to find dirt.....

    1. Who is the SSG requesting the equipment?
    2. Who verified his claim of being a "Ranger"
    3. What unit is he currently a member of?
    4. Why hasn't the lack of equipment been dealt with from within the system?

I can be reached via PM here or via PM at www.armyranger.com/bb (same user name)

    Thanks
I also fall into the category of taking allot of these requests with a grain of salt. Sure you do run into units and guys that don't have all the gear they need. But from what I saw in the Marine areas was we kept getting good to have gear from the system. So much so we had boxes and boxes of gear that was sitting in conexs and not being used because of having too much.

When I was a CO back in 03, my Lts went on a letter writing campaign often getting free gear that the BN had already bought for them.

AmericanSnipers.org is legit, and they really do what they say they do. I can tell you from spending some time with Brian Sain and crew that he and his guys are passionate about this and totally committed. In fact, LTW has selected AS.org as this year's beneficiary for our to-date most complete custom 1911 package.... this pistol is being customized by Chuck Rogers, Stan Chen, Don Williams, myself, and Ted Yost.... at least. It might wind up going through C.T. Brian's shop and John Harrison's too. The package is being put together as if it were going to be put to use by one of AmericanSnipers' own. A very cut-down version of the descripion:

A 1911 with rail, put together for hard knocks, by at least five of the LTW 'smiths
    Surefire light and spares
    Leupold binocs
Custom leather from Alex Nossar of Peru
    Safariland 6004 holster
    Soft case-Nossar Gunleather
    Hard case--Starlight
    Maint. kit
    Spares
    Chris Reeve knife
BarSto, Wilson Combat, and EGW have contributed parts for the build.
    Decommissioned flag(s)
Center Mass has contributed one of the excellent mini-rifle rests (a much-requested item by the guys "over there")
Ammo-- Black Hills has committed for a case
Classes-- Strike Tactical Solutions will provide tuition for its entire spectrum of CQB classes. I've taken Level 1 and it's dynamic! This part can only be redeemed if the winner is police or military.

Hope it's OK for me to post a link for more info on this raffle:
    http://www.louderthanwords.us/forum/...t=4681&start=0

    The pistol is CA-legal.
