So when that's up, does POI shift to the tritium dot and that's why you'd want to have it down in daylight?

Up = tritium
Down = regular sight post

I gathered, but I also noticed the tritium dot was significantly higher. So what I was asking was:

with the tritium sight down (regular sight post), you sight normally, with the POI just above the sights, but with the tritium sight up, do you put the tritium dot OVER the target (intended POI)?

That's the only way it makes sense to me to have it be so much taller.
