Honestly, who cares? These are poor quality Aimpoint knock-off's, plain and simple.
Don't get me wrong. I love my Aimpoint, I wish I could afford to buy one for every rifle. But the PA's have been getting the job done just as well. So I wanted to get the info out to those that were thinking about trying one out is all.
When you got a chance to try one out, what made you feel that they were poor quality? Just curious.

Never owned one, but I've checked one out belonging to a friend.
My list of Cons:
-Straight up knock-off of Aimpoint design, they even named it the M3
-Dot washes out in bright sunlight
-Honestly just "felt" cheap compared to the real deal, materials/finish wise
-Did I mention it's a commie knock-off?
I hear you and those are valid points. I had a bit of trouble with quick acquisition under direct sunlight as well. And like I said if I had the funds to buy all aimpoint I would. These will do for now and they are getting it done.

Everyone knows they are a knock off, they are not marketed as the real thing or to replace the real thing. The guy that sells them is very upfront about it, and will tell you not to buy it for a duty gun/HD or going to war.
Sorry but not everyone feels the need to buy a real aimpoint to put on every range toy, .22, or the gun they let their buddies shoot. The bottom line is for the cost it is worth it for something you are not using to defend your life with.
I, for one, like the idea of running them on my .22's, training/loaner rifles, and in other applications that won't be seeing a lot of "serious" use. My go-to carbine of course is running a real Aimpoint.
I have a Micro Dot that has been running fine on my dedicated plinker. No one is under the delusion that they're a substitute for an Aimpoint; however, not every single application requires the use of a 500+ dollar optic.
And yes, we are well aware of the country of manufacture. However, I see no need to be so dismissive to someone simply giving their impressions of the thing.
I recall a three page thread on the PA dots a while ago where Alaskapopo gave his impressions. So obviously, there's several users here who have some interest in them.
OP, thanks for sharing your thoughts on them. The Primary Arms website also has great prices on a lot of other stuff as well, and they ship fast.

"I have your number. Consider yourself warned."
Please put all of your "commie knock-offs" along with everything else you own that has any components made in a communist country neatly by your curb. We'll be by to pick it up...Hope you don't own anything like UnderArmor, BlackHawk, Samsung, Leupold, Sony, Harley Davidson, General Electric, etc... Well actually I hope you do - I have been eyeballing a Harley Davidson for a while now...Thanks for your help.
To the OP - thanks for the write-up. I am looking forward to seeing how these hold up. Please torture them....
I'm not blind to the fact that there is a long list of items made in China. Some that alot of people wouldn't expect in "USA" made items.
Still, that doesn't change the facts about intellectual theft.
I used a PA M4-style red dot for over a year while I saved for an Aimpoint at 5X the cost. It worked really well, used rechargeable AA batteries, had a plain 2 MOA dot, what looked like an Eotech reticle, and 2 other reticles that I never used. Came with flip-ups and it's own mount that was lower 1/3 and was built like a tank.
It was pretty heavy though, and when I finally got my H-1 and compared them side-by-side you could tell why the Aimpoint is more expensive... one thing using that PA optic for a year did for me was make me realize that I much prefer the micros over the full sized Aimpoints.
Not a bad optic for the price, and I was able to sell it quickly on the EE when I was done with it. Their customer service is outstanding.
