I have an A2 I can use, I just don't have it attached to anything, and I want to play with carbine buffers as well so I need the short tube (although I suppose I could put a spacer in the rifle-length tube and still use the carbine buffers...)

I don't know much about the bench rests mentioned, but I do use a UBR, and I think it would do an adequate job of simulating an A2 stock.

    Rob,

Would this work for you as far as a larger stock add-on? See picture 4 of post 1.

For lighter weight than a front bench rest, I use a front and rear bag rest. Similar to a sandbag but not as heavy, they have a "V" or "U" notch in the front for the rifle and a rear bag rest for the stock.

I haven't had any problems getting my collapsible stock in the rear bag, but I do use 20 rd mags for this type shooting.

The down side is they are not adjustable for elevation, but that hasn't been an issue for me.

Most popular shooting gear web sites have different brands.
