    HELP with Duty Ammo!

I have been tasked with making an order for duty ammo today from Winchester. Any thoughts on what ammo from the list would be the optimal to use in our rifles for LE purposes? Here is what I have to choose from:
    .223
    55 gr PSP (RA223R)
    64gr PP Knurl (RA223R2)
    69 gr Match HPBT (RA223M)
55 gr Supreme Ballistic Silvertip (RA223BSTA)
    62 gr FMJ (USA223R3)

    5.56
    62 gr Penetrator (M855)
    55 gr FMJ (Q3131)
Sorry for the brief post... I am running out of time. We are currently using the 64 gr PP in our A2-type rifles with 20" 1:7 twist barrels. Thanks.

I would suggest reading here: https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=19881 and also PM'ing DocGKR (Dr. Roberts) to discuss your needs. Best of luck.

Thanks, that is good information. Perhaps I have placed my question in the wrong forum...should I have placed it it in the Terminal Ballistic Information forum?

That's where I would've put it, there's tons of good info there. Maybe one of the Mods can move it over. PM DocGKR, author of most of the info, and he should be able to get you on the right track ASAP if you haven't already found your answer.

Is Winchester your only option? Federal has been inking some bids that enable to agencies to get TRU at 2+:1 over certain others.

Worth looking into, if it's an option.

From your list, I would probably go with the
    --64gr PP Knurl (RA223R2)

I would not recommend anything steel core.

I think there is better stuff out there--Federal and Hornady TAP

Just make sure that all of your rifles are indeed 1:7 twists. The small armory I am in charge of has a mix of Colts with 1:12 and 1:7, so I am forced to order 55gr stuff for us.

Just curious, I noticed that your handle has "ranger" in it. Are you working off of the DOI Winchester pricing?

Winchester was all I was given. I will have to ask about Federal. I have seen ammo from Win./Fed./Rem. of different types at various times in the ammo locker.

I agree...the Penetrator was on the list, so I listed it.
