I am from the greater Pittsburgh area and although most on my work is in Pittsburgh, I do drive to Ohio and West Virginia several times a month. I carry a Keltec P3AT for the night jobs when I'm forced to park in parking garages. I am just thinking of ways to keep a rifle in my truck without being suspicious in case the world goes totally sideways. The contents of my truck are always exposed at one point or another so a retangular bag with mag pouches on the side isn't going to work. I would just hate to see someone go into my "gym bag" for a rag or something and report me on the contents of the bag.

    This thread is retarded.

Are you kidding me? Gym bag, brief case, guitar case, pelican case, tool chests? ALL of these things are potential money for anyone brazen enough break into a vehicle. You think sports equipment, a potential laptop in a briefcase, instruments, power tools and regular tools aren't attractive to criminals on their own looking to pawn them?

Regarding that abortion above? Not just no. **** no.

Given your circumstances, when the world goes sideways at work you have a more valuable tool: your vehicle.

I now return this thread to delusions of parking lot firefights.

I happen to know who designed this thing, though I've never really quizzed him about it, mostly because I'm not interested in it for myself. I will say that he's a well-trained shooter and knows quite a bit about gun work. He manufactures suppressors as well.

I think the main purpose of this system is to have something extremely discreet that can be utilized in quick order. It's something he wanted to make for himself and sold to those who knew about it, and then someone came in and wanted to distribute it.

If anybody has any questions about it, I might be able to get some answers. I'll try to get more pics/video if I can.

I have been using guitar gig bags to carry rifles in for over 10 years. Raises a lot fewer suspicions when I leave the house with a guitar gig bag versus an obvious rifle case.

It looks like you add the "special" barrel nut on your rifle and low-pro gas block and you're good to go. Seems pretty simple...idk? Any feedback is appreciated.

that seems sketchy to me i can see this being good for a police car as a secondary ar if they have one in there already. But why not just get carry a pistol at least your ready to go if something goes down. I dont thing the person threating your life will wait as you put together your rifle. And i also agree with other posters with the problem with some one breaking into your car and stealing it.

you could assemble it in your hotel room before ya hit the sack..
i tend to be pretty comfortable with just a pistol most of the time though. some of the northeast places where pistols are demonized though... could make sense to have a rifle, especially if you're travelling state to state.

i personally can't bring myself to leave a rifle in a car on a regular basis though... seems like a theft waiting to happen.

    Honestly

Being in the Pac NW has opened my eyes to how people should act concerning weapons in a vehicle. Personally, growing up in Los Angeles everyone was a threat or suspect period. But after residing up here in the north in WA on the eastern side near Idaho border folks tend to leave vehicles unlocked, or locked with weapons, rifles slung in the racks or overheads. My fellow Washingtonians that live on the other side of the Pass are in a totally different situation, no better than LA or Miami, DC, etc...

Personally, I still lock everything, but in my POV not my cruiser I have a digital lockbox with spare pistol and extra mags under the seat, a taser and asp in jockey box, and AR in the trunk strapped to the fold down, easy to reach while in front seat. Biggest reason is being called out when off duty, but needed for SRT needs with quad county task force. Oh yeah extra uni's and gear in trunk.
