    I'd go MRP

For one, the MRP rail is amazing. Rigid, simple, extremely well made.

And the MRP is just a housing. Because it has a QD barrel, it can be direct gas or piston based.

If you get the piston MRP, and dont like it, you can sell the piston kit and get a DI barrel. Though, I wager you will like the piston version just fine. I know I do.

Take a look at this thread on TOS and see how versatile the MRP really is: http://www.ak47.net/forums/topic.htm...258362&page=88

    Here is mine

Get the DD and spend the extra cash on a good optic (I loves a aimpoint H1 or CompM4s) and ammo. Don't forget flashlight and mount, maybe a redi mag or mod etc.

DD, the piston uppers do not make things any better. You lose the advantage of the DI system anyway (recoil) and add proprietary parts, or less common parts.

The MRP has been around for a few years, but it is still a sleeper because it is more on the expensive side

I also don't think many people realize the MRP is not just another rail.

DD rifles are some of the best values in the market period. And they're one of the best. Top 3 I'd say.

I think for the money the DD is a lot better. I really dig the cold hammer forged barrel. For the price LMT wants, they should CHF their barrels too. Plus I'm with a lot of other guys, there's nothing wrong with DI. Yeah it gets dirtier but you're gunna clean your guns anyways right? I also think piston guns are too front heavy (maybe this one is an exception. I dont know, never held one).

    DD all the way

Flat out my favorite item within the firearm world

I think MRPs intimidate quite a few users besides the high costs...most users might not either realize the endless potential to the system or feel they will never utilize it all.

    The DD gun:
cannot turn into a piston/D.I. within 1 min.
    cannot change into a 9mm, .204ruger,6.8spc within 1 min.
cannot turn into a TACK DRIVING SS precision AR w. the 16" and 18" SS model barrels within 1 min.
Does not provide a single one piece aluminum chassis that provides the most rigid platform in the AR game(mrp one piece chassis starts its life at close to 8lbs. chuck of aluminum)
Does not provide a continuous top rail for mounting optics and accessories like a mrp
Does not have built in QD sockets like the MRP does

Might be leaving a little out, but folks get my jest
