    Removeable Scope Mount Repeatability

What is everyone's opinion as to acceptable MOA repeatability in regards to removeable scope mounts?

I have an American Defense Recon-X mount. With the 1x4 scope zero'ed at 100 yards, (7.62x51AR), 3 shot groups can be covered with a nickle. Remove the scope, remount in the same rail slot position with engagement surfaces all pushed forward before securing, the zero moves 7MOA to the left. Re-mount again in the same position. the zero is between the original zero position and the before mentioned 7MOA.

My T-1's don't seem to shift more than 1-2 MOA at 50, my TA-33 is within an inch at 100, and my NF 2.5-10 is within an inch. All are on Larue mounts. In the past I did notice that the more you removed/re installed the larger the groups got. With the old ARMs mounts about 2-3 MOA was as good as it got. The even older Leupold rings were generally within 2-3 inches at a hundred.

    That is odd
I have used ADMs and not experienced that

my main rifle (Wilson 6.8) has their mount and it returns to zero perfect every time

I would expect within an inch repeatability at 100.

I regularly take my mounts off, and put them back on, and Ive never noticed any zero shift like that. All I use is LaRue....

I have no experience with ADM mounts but I would try to contact them, and see what they have to say.

That'd be significantly out of the ordinary with either ADM or LaRue, in my experience. I can't think of one that produced anything more than a high .4XX shift, and that's across a spectrum of all sorts of magnified and unmagnified devices.

At a loss as to what would cause the OP's results.

Thanks for the comments. I am going to remove the mount and try a position a few slots forward to see if the results change.

My inexpensive Armalite mount returns to zero everytime. Are you always returning it to the smae slots?

I zero'd my 3gun rifle at 200yds, two weeks ago. Removed the scope (Burris XTR 1-4x 30mm) mounted in a Bobro mount from the rifle since then 3 times. Shot the 3gun match at Blackwater yesterday and placed 1st. We shot from 25-200yds yesterday, no noticeable shift.

Will run some more tests tomorrow. If the issue persists, I'll contact ADM.
