    updated my poor man's KAC

The UBR wasn't working out on this carbine so I pulled it and installed an ACS instead

It may not be an SR-25, but it's hot as hell. Nice work!

The ACR is an exceptional piece of kit, but given the configuration choices made for this rifle (length, optics), I'm not entirely sure how the UBR would have been a bad choice -- if anything, I'd have thought it would have balanced things out nicely.

What drove the decision to remove it?

I had ADCO reprofile the BBL so it moved the balance point further to the rear and the UBR was just a bit too heavy so it made the gun ass heavy.

Beautiful rifle. Can you elaborate on the components used in a "poor man's KAC" please?

That makes perfect sense; especially if you are planning to leave the rails fairly clean. Thanks!

Off the top of my head:

    DPMS lower w/
    -WOA LPK
    -Giessele SSA
    -Slash buffer
    -ACS
    -MIAD

    Old style DPMS upper w/
    -Fulton Armory BCG
-DPMS AP4 BBL reprofiled by ADCO and I polished the chamber
-KAC URX II installed my Casey at Lawmen's

It's sporting a TA11J-308 and the BDC is perfect with BH 175gr BTHP out to 500 yards

I'll be replacing the LT gas block and ACOG mount soon.

Thank you, and again, beautiful rifle.

no problem and thanks. Oh if you want to build a DPMS and don't want to use their rails, buy the upper from Fulton and you won't have any issues

Only thing that ever goes on there is a bipod but the gun usually sits just as is.

That looks like a solid, well-put together weapon. When you first posted pictures of your rifle a few months back they inspired me to build something similar, and here's the result:

Aside from the obvious differences I went with a mid-length gas stainless steel 1:10 WOA barrel. The Leupold M3 was on there for accuracy testing, I do intend to use a TA11.

    Thank you for the idea!

    Edited to add the components:
    -DPMS Lower.
    -Fulton upper/BCG.
    -Magpul UBR and MIAD.
    -Geissele SSA.
-VLTOR low profile gas block, pinned by ADCO.
-Slash's extra heavy buffer and spring.
