Ask most cops and they'll tell you that there is no such thing as "departmental protection". Most agencies will throw you under the bus so fast it'll make your head spin.

Also; we talk to Homicide investigators, give statements, etc just like citizens do

When they say large department in SoCal I am thinking LAPD, LASO maybe Santa Monica PD or Orange County S.O. I would also venture to guess they told whomever that it was urgent and they needed the info ASAP.

I agree with M4arc. I think the video may well show the situation was not like it was portayed by the employee and they are going to look like a poo-poo platter.

I went to a COSTCO today in North Phoenix and they did indeed have a "No Firearms Allowed" sign posted (it also appeared to be old), but the one in Avondale, AZ was not to be found.

I believe it was the one near the 101 and Union Hills. Right next to the Sportsman Warehouse.

Our turn around time on getting a hard drive examined depends on where it goes. A drive searched by warrant locally for a quick review can run several months. I dropped of a drive in June and still haven't gotten it back yet. For a drive sent to D.C. the quick turn around is typically six months.

People need to realize that things in the real world don't get handle like they do on CSI: Grand Rapids

Everybody thinks the newest, flashiest case is the biggest priority. Cases going to trial are the priority, followed by first come, first served. How many times do you think a forensic examiner, any kind of forensic examiner is told, "drop what you are doing, this one is hot"? I'll tell you, everytime someone drops off evidence to be looked at.
