I have all of my AR mags loaded but have 2 empty pmags. I use those two to take pictures of my guns. Dont want to use loaded mags if I dont have to.

When I shoot I usually just grab my PMAGs and go. Never have had a problem with them so far.

I also have some DSG brand mags with the Magpul follower and had a problem with one. I was planning to go shoot the next day and decided to load up some magazines the night before. When I went to shoot the USGI mag I inserted it and let the BCG slam home. Nothing, tried it again, nothing. Dropped the magazine and took one round out and then it worked fine. Pretty sure I only had 28 rounds in it at the time.

Never have had that problem with the PMAGs, either 30 or 20 rounders.

You didn't have it fully inserted. This is why we do a push/pull check during reloads.

yes work push/pull checks into your drills when you load a new mag. It doesnt even take that much extra motion to check to make dang sure the mag is seated.

I keep mags till they die.

I replace worn mags with whatever I can get cheaper. I'm not fussy over PMAG vs USGI. All I care about is reliable feeding, and reasonable durability

I am sure it was seated fully. I usually insert my magazines and give a good pull.

The reason I am thinking the magazine acted up was it was brand new and on its maiden voyage. Spring tension??

FWIW, I have a half dozen or more thermolds from pre-AWB days. I shot the crap out of them during the dark era. They are still in my totes of firearms stuff and still function when I use them. They're by no means in by stash of go-to gear, but they work after 25 years or so.

Glad to read the other day that Kyle Lamb feels the same way.
Hey, if you are not running them on anything but a square range, 30 is fine. If you cannot afford to pooch a tac load, 30 in a GI mag is as wrong as two boys f*&k#$g.
My brother saw Deliverance and bought a Bow. I saw Deliverance and bought an AR-15.
