    Open Sight Question

On standard AR A2 sights . . . do the two rings have anything to do with hold over? That is, is the smaller (long range) ring situated higher as to raise the point of impact of the bullet or is the smaller ring just that, smaller, to assist with zeroing in on a far away target. I know, basic quesiton. Thanks in advance for your response.

    Most are different height.

You can get same plane rear apertures though.

Yes stock/OEM A2 rear sights are on different planes.

You can buy aftermarket apertures that are on the same plane.

Thanks fellas. What about the Troy flip up rear sights? Anyone know if they are on the same plane or not?
