AAHHHH, The Republic of Boulder. It's like stepping into another world.
I think most of Boulders problem is that in the 90's, when the mad rush of Californians moved to Colorado, they went there.

Heh, so true of so many places. I rarely look the part either, I tend to be harried professional appearing, or a surfer who missed the beach by a few hundred miles. As soon as they see what I am reading, or hear me talk on the phone to anyone, oi vay!

    The hoax

I'm glad it's a hoax because I really enjoy Starbucks full city roast coffee! I can't stand their competitors like Tim Hortons or Second Cup. It tastes like shit and one time the Second Cup employee served my buddy a cup without cleaning out the machine. My buddy said to me, "Does this taste odd?" I looked at the cup and noticed the soap suds lining the edge of the cup. He went back and they apologized for not realizing that the chemical that they used to clean had not been rinsed and removed from the vat. I laughed and said, "That's the reason I drink Starbucks. But you know what, the airport that I drink at isn't even a real Starbucks! Bunch of uninterested employees that don't even drink coffee and are always running out of coffee in the middle of their shift. That's really something: a coffee shop that has to tell their customers that they're all out of coffee in the middle of the day! Fuuuuuuuuuuck! I don't get it!!!!

I drink the hell out of Starbucks because the two near me, (And a large military base) give GI discounts. BUT a cavaet, Starbucks sells Costa Rican coffee and I knew someone from Costa Rica who traveled to Venezuela and spoke to a Cuban who sold him a cigar. Guilt by association, HUH.

Dark, heavy coffee is best. The froo froo drinks don't cut it for me.

Now some dark roast will fill the bill and Starbucks coffee fills the bill.

LOL That's what I get for posting after drinking 5 Bacardi mojitos. But I do stand by the fact that Starbucks takes pride in their coffee. With the exception of the ones at the airports that are not "real" Starbucks, at least Starbucks will give you a voucher or another cup free of charge if there's even a hint of unsatisfactory service. Hell, for $3 a cup, it better be damn good coffee. And as for the ambiance at a local Starbucks, lotsa choice T&A at the ones I frequent.

I either like dark roasted coffee, black no sugar... or chai tea. I've been addicted to chai for the last couple of years.

Dark roasted, fresh ground coffee here, very strong with a little real cream. I brew several cups every morning and wouldn't know how to start the day without it.

That said, I have only been in a Starbucks once. I had to use the restroom and early on a Sunday morning, nothing else was open. I went in and found that the mens room was occupied so I waited outside. The wait went on and on with me eventually setting down at a table to wait. After knocking on the door several times, it finally opened. Out came an old hippie type with a Sunday NYSlimes and a large coffee cup. He must have read the whole paper while drinking his morning coffee as he sat on the can

    I haven't been back since.

I'm not really a big fan of their actual coffee - I go there because I can get free wireless from the University next door, and I start to go a little crazy without human interaction when working at home. For good coffee I usually hit a local Italian place for a French press. It seems to be a little more fresh, and not burned.

Oh by far not my favorite coffee, if I had to choose a favorite, I'd go with Raven's Brew any day! I can't wait to move back to Alaska, I have a favorite coffee spot that serves Raven's Brew.

    Check em out!
