Actually, before they were introduced at SHOT Aimpoint were dabbling into offering them with mounting solutions for decidedly combat application platforms.

So if the T-1 is being used as a combat optic, how do our guys keep dust and dirt and water and snow from obscuring the lens. Deer hunting in the mountains has me convinced to never go afield with out covers.

Not military combat, but I use mine in marijuana eradication, which has some parallels as far as environment goes.

If you shoot with both eyes open, you can still easily make hits with a front cover still on, so the front lens getting obscured doesn't really make that big of a difference.

The only time that I have wished that I had a cover for mine was in a garden that we had to trek through a couple of miles of tamarask to get to. Tamarask puts out a very salty sap (for lack of a better word) that completely coated my rear lens. However, I spit some water onto it and it wiped off easy enough.

Now, I keep the bikini cover on it, but sideways and down below the lenses, if that makes any sense. That way I can cover the lenses if need be.

As prior posted photos show, these are becoming very popular with the Guardian Angels. I think the new 2moa dot and magnifier combo will continue to increase the popularity.
