I'm a Pmag fan but I'm issued Tapco mags for training. Believe it or not, they run better than expected. Plus the floorplates don't get snagged when stacked in a double mag pouch. I like em but they're still not Pmags!

The AK mag I tried of theirs was suprisingly well made, but under-sprung. a new mag spring made it run 100% so far. Factory rep claimed that they were not all like that and offered to send a new one, which never showed up.
The SKS mags have a decent reputation, but my tests have been far too minimal to comment on them. they do seem well made and sufficiently sprung with an anti tilt follower.
I'd buy an AR mag just to test it out, but as for buying a bunch, I fall in the same category as the rest .... why bother when pmags just plain work.
My capacity for self deception is exceeded only by yours.
With the price of Pmags and the known track record.......why go with anything else?![]()
Tapco anything isn't well regarded here. There are way too many quality mags both USGI type (NHMTG, DSA, DSG, Bravo Company, Pmags and Lancers) to go with any Tapco product. Hell I just got a flyer from botach the other day for lancer mags for 10 bucks each. I have pretty much all of them. If you go with aluminum mags, get the Magpul followers.
For God and the soldier we adore, In time of danger, not before! The danger passed, and all things righted, God is forgotten and the soldier slighted." - Rudyard Kipling
I just bought a bunch of new-in-the-wrapper Center Industries GI mags for $6 each. I have been using these for for a few years without any issues.
Why the hell would I spend more on TAPCO mags?
