Is there someone with patience able to help me post photos?

Ok I have scoured the posts looking for the instructions...have found some but just can't seem to get the hang of posting pics. Anyone have the time and patience to help me? Much appreciated. Thanks.

Probably the easiest way I know would be to open and account with Photobucket or some other similar picture hosting site. Once you've uploaded your pictures to that site, under each picture it should give you text line you can copy that will look something like <img>http://bla,bla,bla</img> Just copy that and paste it into your post.

    Does that help?

What problems are you having exactly? What method are you using that isn't producing the expected results?

I use photobucket as noted above. It's free to open an account. Once you have your pics uploaded there you will see four options under each one. One option (the second one down) is labeled "direct link". Highlight this link and copy it and when you're posting here you click on the button labeled "insert image" and then paste the link in the window that pops up. There may already be some text in the popup window, like "http://" and if that's there then you need to delete it. This way will cause the picture to show in your post rather than just showing as an attachment that viewers have to click on.

The last option under "share this image" on your photobucket album is IMG Code. This is what I've always used for posting pictures. Plus, you won't have to add the IMG brackets.

    Allow myself to plagiarize...myself

    This works for me.....
I have been meaning to do a walkthrough of this but haven't made the time.

If I can pull this off and people find it useful (how could they not ) maybe the MODS could do a sticky.

    Here goes:

Upload your photo through Picasa to your albums.

Click on the photo you want to use so it is on a page by itself.

Then click on the "Link to this photo" text on the right side of the screen.

Then click on "select size" for the photo such as 400, 800 or whatever from the drop down box.

Then highlight the entire line of text in the "embed photo" box and paste it into a blank word doc.

I have never been able to just highlight what i need so I do the whole thing and then cut it out. If you've got a workaround or you think my copy and paste skills blow goats then knock yourself out.

I'll be happy to eliminate the opening a word doc part.

    it will look like this:

    <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/hkBPc5KTCDwIwo6FcsvUnQ?authkey=Gv1sRgCKS6_J_Q4d6Rdg&feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_JAPdm6GhhJM/SXkhRTqseAI/AAAAAAAAAVw/D7AWDoUjj80/s800/IMG_1086.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/geezerb/Proofs?authkey=Gv1sRgCKS6_J_Q4d6Rdg&feat=embedwebsite">proofs</a></td></tr></table>

now copy what I've highlighted in red and only what I've highlighted in red from your photo's information. Do not copy the "http://" part because it is already included in the M4C "add image" script.

Click the "insert Image" icon on the M4C menu and paste the red part into that and click ok.

Here is what I've just done in practice:

BTW if someone wants to take screen shots of this process and use what I've already typed to make a real good primer, feel free to combine the information

Thank you all for your help. I think I now have it mastered on how to get it to work from Photobucket...

Gezzerbutler....I was not able to follow you on Picasa where you said..

Then click on the "Link to this photo" text on the right side of the screen.

I don't see any such option on the right side of my screen or any menu???

I don't post a lot of pics, but when I do, I just use the attachment feature here.

Open Manage Attachments and upload the file (I've never had a problem with file sizes). Once uploaded, I open the link to the file from the Manage Attachments window in a new window and copy the URL (you can just right-click and use Copy Link, but I open it to check size and whatnot). Then I use the Insert Image function in the Reply to Thread dialogue and insert the URL into the dialogue box that pops up and hit OK. Then I preview the post to make sure it works, and then I remove the attachment.

I had never even noticed that before. I see the IMG Code already has the brackets around it. Thanks for pointing it out.

Also its [ img ] URL to pic [ / img ] (remove all spaces in my example, wasn't sure if it'd show up if I did not put spaces in)

vs <img> url</img>as in actual html code...
