Oh, that makes more sense, completely forgot about metallurgy considerations.

I was really thinking about having something more unique. Yes, you could pass it off as for "bling" considerations, but I don't see any difference between this and people doing "Desert Tan" or "Olive Drab" finishes.

Colt sold factory electroless nickel SP-1 rifles in the early 80's and called it "Coltguard".

Google coltguard for pics of some.

    Polish it

If it's ok to polish stainless steel firearms and leave them in the white, why not aluminum? You will need to treat the surface or it will oxidize and turn dull

I gotta say that those Coltguard finished rifles look pretty damn good. Not in a pimpalicious way, either (and I hate pimpalicious). But in a good way. Kind of like a nickle finished shotgun with black synthetic furniture.

Hey now...I think that one day I'd like to make a triple set one day...electroless nickle finished AR, Rem 870P, and Colt 1911...all with black furniture/grips...
I'm no expert, but I took my CCW course at a Holiday Inn Express

Did you do that? I wonder what will strip the finish without damaging anything. I wonder what I could use to treat the surface...

I believe the UZI has Robar's NP3 finish on it.

I would not strip the anodizing off an AR leaving the aluminum bare. Aluminum is soft and anodizing is hard. You could have one electroless nickel plated, like "Coltguard."
