Kevin Boland (KAC) has said before that his company is on a constant evolutionary improvement trajectory with their SR25 products. Since KAC and LMT are on such good terms, it seems fair to think these improvements might be shared across platforms.

Prices will only continue upward, and if improvements come to the barrel, BCG or FCG later, you can always add them to your 308MWSE after you've put 10,000 rounds on the originals...

So if you think the LMT 308 might be useful to you, I wouldn't wait for unannounced "improvements" to show up before making your purchase.

I think it is definetely worth it. It will only go up in price or get harder to find. Mine had a inspection tag date of july 21st and it is in the low 330's for the serial. There is not alot of these floating around.
