I worked alot with the MH60s from 617th SOAD, a det from 160th SOAR in Panama in the early 90s and they were very impressive pilots. The time it took from flair in, FAST rope 10-12 personnel on a roof top, drop the ropes and transistion out was less then 30 seconds, often around 20 seconds. Flew through numerous thunderstorms and lots of NAPA without concern. As a Team Leader and as a FAST rope master, it was always funny to listen on the IC to the crusty CWO3 and CWO4 pilots counsel/mentor the regular officer pilots when they were at the stick. It is tough for regular officers to get the stick time/experience that a CWO3/4 has esp. after being with the 160th.

when did a killhouse become a shoothouse?
When I worked for SPAWAR, I saw SEAL's in their go fast's getting picked up out of the water via a Crane on the top of an Aircraft Carrrier at over 30 knots in the pitch dark.
Pretty cool stuff....
