    Thoughts on ADS rifles...

Anyone have anything good or bad to say about the Advanced Defense Systems rifles? They are a local company so I see their products fairly regularly but have been able to get any real specs.

    Thanks.

I thought ADS went under? Maybe not. From what I saw of their lowers they appeared to be good, but I haven't touched one.

Grant used to be an ADS dealer... see his threads below:

You have to remember that those threads come from a time when there were very few quality rifles available. Nowadays, the Spike's M4LE looks like it has better specs for the pricepoint - the Spike's have a staked M-16 bolt carrier, MP tested bolt, upgraded extractor, and individually MP tested barrels. What are the ADS rifles you're looking at selling for?

With a very low round count (About 1000) in the past couple of years, I can't be certain about durability. But everything works fine so far.

The stakings are done well for what I can see. Also, they coated the lower and upper with some kind of ceramic coating (can't remember which kind) so that's the added bonus.

However, I believe they went under as well. Their website no longer exist and there's no one to answer emails. As choices of AR get much better these days, you really should look for different brands.

Beside the MIAD grip, BUIS, the Aimpoint and the sling, everything else are bone stock....

Purchased three in total from G&R. Two of them have been run hard in a Super Dave school without issue. ADS are well made and assembled with quality componets. The fit and finish is outstanding.

At the time I felt it was by far the best value for the money.

I don't know what your issue is, but what I said is not "libel". I simply stated alleged as they have yet to provide documentation.

    Damn, got the Ban Stick!

I wasnt seriously looking at them but a friend of mine is wanting a quality rifle. I found a lightly used standard flat top carbine for 750 that looks nice. Around here they seem to be gooing for about the same as a Bushy for the standards.
