I have a surplus A2 20" barrel, and was thinking of having it re-contoured to an A1 profile, but I'll probably save it for and future A2 project. Sooner or later the A2 will be considered a "retro gun".....

Del-Ton has 20" light weight barrels for sale. They are wilson barrels but are not chrome lined and do not come with m4 feed ramps.

Green Mountain Barrels PMed me a couple of months ago on arfcom saying they were coming out with a 20" LW chrome lined barrel. (M16A1 profile) As i understand it some will be 1/7" and some 1/12". They should be coming out any time now if the time line they gave me is met.

Should be interesting. The challenge is that several offer "lightweight" barrels but run a .75" FSB/GB not that adds too much weight but I do not think that it looks as good. Hoping GM is a true A1.

It is, but they screwed up their first batch and they are 1/2" too short OAL. They are for sale on their website at a steep discount. I asked, and was told it will be after Christmas before new ones are made in the correct length.
