While Centurion makes outstanding kit, there is NOTHING wrong with DD's barrels. They are CHF and excellent quality.

For a precision (SPR) build I'd go with Centurion or Kreiger. But I wouldn't scoff at a DD barrel for any reason. They make excellent kit. I'd love a DDM4 as a beater rifle. Bone stock DDM4 and a stock G17 would be an excellent K.I.S.S. kit.

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with DD bbls or the CHF processes IMO.

I don't know why, but it seems like ever since BCM started offering CHF bbls, and people started asking about them, they have gotten a bad interwebz reputation...completely underserved.

    Do you need CHF? No.

Is it nice to have? Yes.
