    Aimpoint CompM2 or T1?

Theres like hundreds of "xxxx or xxxxx" threads here, but I didn't know any other way to ask it.

SKD has a crazy deal going on CompM2s right now, which is why I'm considering it. I can save about $200 getting the CompM2 with Larue mount over a T-1 with Larue mount.

I've shot an AR with the T1, but never the M2.

Are there benefits either way? Oh, and battery life is pretty irrelavent. Once you start talking about 10,000 hours (like 13 months?) in constant on its really not that big of a deal. This will be going on my gun I'll be using to pretty much beat the crap out of. It will shoot many rounds, be cleaned rarely, and always be out in the field.

I guess it comes down to size, awkwardness (is the m2 too big?) and reliability. I appreciate any responses.

The M2 is smaller than you might think, but it obviously isn't going to compete with the T-1 when it comes to form factor and weight. On the other hand, it delivers the same basic capability for less money, is well-proven in military use as the M68, and affords a slightly larger view which is appreciated by some shooters.

You really can't go wrong either way, and while the T-1 is still the benchmark RDS in the eyes of most, I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be very well-served with the M2.

Over the past few months, for my own edification, I’ve been doing a direct comparison between the M2 and T1. I purchased the T1 a few months ago and have used the M2 for years. As I ran various drills, I just swapped back and forth between the two sights, recording my speed/accuracy performance with each sight. I shoot with both eyes open and have seen no notable performance difference between the two. I initially thought the smaller tube of the T1 would impede my performance in some way but that hasn’t been the case.

To answer your question, no I wouldn’t consider the M2 too big or awkward. The small size and weight of the T1 is nice if a light weight weapon system is what you are looking for. After doing my little comparison I now prefer the T1 over the M2 simply because it’s smaller and lighter. But, with that being said, I wouldn’t feel slighted in any way if I only had the M2. If you can get a crazy deal on the M2 w/Larue mount then don’t pass it up. Save the $200 for some ammo.

I prefer the T1 for size and weight efficiency. New acquisitions will be T1s. That being said, I still have and use Ms, and would consider more if the money was right.

I sold two of my CompML2s to "upgrade" to T1s. Now that some time has passed, it was kind of stupid. I could have used the money for better things.

The T1 is lighter and uses a more available battery. But, the aperture size of the ML2 gives you more flexibility with head placement.

    They are both good.

I'm mulling over which optic to buy and am leaning towards the comp m2; anyone know of a mount that will co-witness with my iron sights on my DD M4 V1?

    THanks!

I just bought the Aimpoint, but not the mount SKD had for sale. I like the Cantilever Larue mount better.

I hope its everything people make them out to be
