    I have another BFG UWL question . . .

How well will it work looped around the base of the stock (on an AR) for using a single-point sling, or for the rear connection of a two-point?

I'm thinking it might get in the way of the charging handle. Before the variety of mounting plates and other hardware were readily available, I used a couple of zip ties in that place (I know some used flex cuffs...same idea) with a carabiner, but I had to be really careful when I used the charging handle (which is not a good thing under stress).

    Has anyone tried it yet?

Now that is an angle I hadn't considered, and all of a sudden this product may be of use to me.

Being a complete novice with the AR, I wanted to get the opinion of those of you with more experience. Do you think using it like this could cause any problems?

    Thanks!

I don't think you will have any issues.

Excellent! I think that is the answer to the question about sling mounting with standard handguards, that I was hunting for a while back.

Issues with heat? I know the cable can handle it, but can the coating?

I’ve been shooting with one of the new Blue Force Gear lightweight Redi-Mag II’s for the past month and it is simply awesome. It is light years superior. While the weight savings is nice and noticeable I personally think the tapering/slanting makes the most difference. Now it’s possible to actually see the magwell during a reload.

I could never go back to a standard Redi-Mag after shooting with the BFG version. Like I said, it is light years superior.

I agree, the angled cut makes all the difference in the world to me, and makes it a much more natural reload (or at least it does for me).
