    It would theoretically be easier to stick your finger into the holes in the troy to see if your barrel is hot...

    I use the Viking Tactics Lo Pro mount (QD) which mounts on the 12 o'clock rail.

    If I wanted a QD sling point I'd use the VTAC mount GotM4 mentions. I want to attach an HK hook so I'm waiting for the Magpul RSA.

    I think the Vtac looks better but the Troy unit comes with all of the tools needed to remove and install the new barrel nut.

    The barrel nut tool came with my VTAC version that I purchased from Rainier Arms.

    I've noticed this too. We're a Troy and VTAC dealer and our newest order of VTAC rails all came with the tool.

    I have the 9" extreme and I am real happy with it, any Idea when Troy will release thier Quick release sling mount, all I get is "Coming Soon",
