I finally got around to taking some decent photos of my Khyber Pass AKM, Soviet clone AKSU-74 Krinkov, and the amazing VZ-58.

Very nice collection. When are you going to sell me that Krink?
Great stuff, VA_Dinger!
That Khyber is sweet, and that is 100% absolutely the Krinkov of my dreams!

What exactly is a "Khyber Pass" AK? I've never heard of it before.
Short version....in the mid 90's pictures started coming out of Afghanistan of a weird AKM variant that no one had ever seen before.
It was an AKM with the folding stock mechanism of the AKS-74. It was assumed that local smiths along the Khyber Pass (Afghan/Pakistani border) were building these.
Then pics came out showing Uzbek Federal Troops carrying them as well....muddied the waters.
There's a famous picture of Osama bin Laden firing one.
People started referring to these types of rifles as Khyber Pass builds.

This is the Uzbek Federal troops photo that got me interested in building one up.
