If you really really must do the 14.5"
Get our old SR-25 Carbine - we have some in stock.
You can also use the UBR with it (it has a Carbine buffer tube and short buffer)
That gun (the old Battle Rifle) has our midlength gas system, as opposed to the rifle length on the EMC, we used to do it in the 14.5"
* We no longer sell that to government, as the EMC system is 100x more reliable.
Note as far as MV drop goes, with M118LR the MV drop from the 20 to the 16 is the same as the 16" to the 14.5"... bascially 85-90 fps.
Anything shorter in 7.62 NATO than 16" and your fast approaching a big 7.62x39 performing system, and that well
We shoot hundred of thousands of rounds testing systems (honestly) we shot over 1.86 MILLION rounds at our facility last year from 9mm to .50BMG - and we learn a fair amount from that. We actually really do have reasons for what we do.
Last edit.
If you want a solid stock - use the Magpul ACS, the friction lock gives you pretty much 99% of the fixed stocks, in a telescopic stock.
