Nice, I'm up in the air right now about whether to get a BCM middy upper/DD CHF Middy upper, or just order the DD CHF mid length barrel to slap on my existing upper.

Remember, the Founding Fathers reason for the 2nd Amendment... to combat tyranny. Sadly, when people discuss the 2nd Amendment, the opponents erroneously think it was meant to stand alone... it HAS a preamble:
"...But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security..."
— John Hancock
We have a bunch of them on the way!

Grant soon I hope. I want one real bad![]()
A middy pencil barrel...I'm down.
Grant, any idea on prices? I'm interested in the barrel/D-ring/FSB/gas tube kit.

I've been patiently waiting for the BCM 14.5 lightweight middy, but I might just have to go this route....![]()
There is a technical aspect to this that I do not understand.
I thought that the mid gas system was ideal for a 16", but carbine gas had better reliability for 14.5" and less. Probably this is just my own misunderstanding, but if someone can explain the difference in function between a mid gas and a carbine gas on a 14.5 barrel, I would be grateful.
Same advantages on a 14.5. Development has been slow because institutional customers are tied to the M4 gas system and individual customers are inclined towards Title 1 firearms.
Actually KAC has two mid length gas systems, one is longer than the industry standard (we know it as intermediate) and the other is shorter and I'm told it is absolutely the heat on a 12.5.
These are now in stock and up on our website:
