    ADM AD Recon Mount Review

    ADM AD Recon Mount Review

I linked the the review so I could keep my colorful language choices in-tact. After looking around a bit, it seems most here already know about these mounts. I haven't been working on AR's for quite a while, but got a bit of it done out of necessity lately.

    Thumbs up

    Very Informative review, thanks!!

I currently use 4 different items from American Defense and they all work flawlessly. Main reason I started buying them was I found out the hard way how different rail dimensions are from different folks. I was using some ARMS stuff before and some would not lock on some "In spec" rails. AD's quick adjustment feature took care of all those issues and I have never looked back.

Reason I went with AD instead of larue's stuff was I know I would have lost that wrench eventually

is there anything inferior about ADM compared to Larue?

i've only heard good stuff about ADM, but it seems to be general consensus that Larue makes the best mounts available today?

my rail has a cut-out-channel in the middle, and some larue mounts were torn up by it already. the cross-bolt design of the ADM seems to be better to handle that kind of rail.
which would be the right mount for a low mount of the aimpoint comp m4?

    Not that I can see.

Certainly not my consensus. ADM's design hasn't been around that long. I assure you that once more people start trying them, larue is going to feel the competition.

Apparently Larue feels the heat already given his behavior on tos yesterday.

I will eventually try out a Bobro ext. mount, besides that I will continue to buy ADM as I have been extremely happy w. the 2 recon x's, scout x, lower 1/3rd riser and T-1 mount, AD-BP bipod mount and TD QD stubby and never had a single problem with them at all.

Looks like there was a nuked thread on TOS about lever marks?

LaRue levers, if properly adjusted, do not leave a mark- unless your receiver has subpar anodizing. (I'll post a photo later of an example)

While this concept might make some heads explode in anger, I like both ADM and LaRue mounts. Haven't tried Bobro.

I have also used larue and they work just fine and have not removed them enough to ever have them burnish the underside of the rail....that said, its gonna happen based on the design of the larue mechanism given you properly wrench them down tight.

You did not miss anything op in the thread on tos.....just somebody making the mistake of requesting info on a mount besides a larue and in this case it was bobro.

All three of these mounts work and the fanboyism esp. by the larue crowd is ridiculous. Thankfully though Andrew Bobro and the folks at ADM stay outta the pissing matches unlike somebody who far too often types first and thinks twice.

Well, I guess I must be an ignorant oaf then. I adjusted mine according to the manual, and it still left marks. I adjusted my larue QD bipod mount as loose as it would go, and still have the most minimal tension... and it still left marks.

Doesn't matter how I adjust my ADM... it doesn't leave marks. Not that its my primary complaint against the larue, because it isn't.
