Thanks for the review. I was considering mating the ADM mount to a leatherwood 1-4x scope and now I know I will.

The bobro has a more refined and imho better securing mechanism than both ADM and Larue. The bobro has a self-adjusting mechanism requiring only one lever and can be opened with one hand easily. That is the big upside....the downside is the horizontal rings that have the screws located underneath the rings. This makes for a tough task of leveling the scope while properly torquing it to specs.

I have had really good luck with the few bobro mounts i have used. they self adjust to out of spec rails. and the same repeatability as other high quality mounts. Plus i prefer the looks. I used the ADM recon X for awhile when I had magnified glass on a rifle, seemed very nice.

+1 on the fanboy fanatics....yeah LT makes a good product, and I have used a few that were loaned to me and I almost bought one for my aimpoint, but the fanboys threw a frickening fit when I asked a few questions on another forum that I thought were ok, . I guess not. So call me immature but I swore off all LT products from that day forward. Plus I really hate the posts when someone comes in and asks about a specific mount or such from another manufacturer, and instead of answering the question or giving points to support why this or that, the fanboy couch commando trolls chime in "just get a Larue". OK rant over.....

Didn't see the thread, but I can't say that this news comes as any surprise. For whatever reason, and it isn't even so much about the products, ML has earned a reputation as someone you either have to love or hate, and it is little wonder that this should have such a polarizing effect on those of us who would use, or otherwise be in the market, for his some of his products. I'll leave my opinion of the associated fanboyism that almost seem to be encouraged politely under wraps.

There is far too much drama in this industry as it is, and from all that I've seen over the years, there can be no denying that LaRue has contributed more than his fair share. Right, wrong, or indifferent, after the Nth episode of such nonsense, a guy probably ought to be asking himself if he is part of the solution, or a part of the problem. Granted, I realize it is a far easier thing to just adopt a bunker mentality and an us-versus-everybody disposition, but who in the world does that help in the long run? Uh, yeah ... I'm thinking "nobody."

I'm only beginning to get a sense for what ADM is doing in the market, but it seems clear that they are taking on all-comers of late, and making quick work of most of them. The fact that they are such a class act only makes the decision that much easier.

I believe ADM as of recent has really increased its R&D and seeing features like the new H series mounts as well as the new and improved adjustment screws leaves me feeling only the highest expectations for ADM in the future.

It has taken quite some time for ADM to finally breakthrough after being brutally victimized and belittled for taking advantage of the capitalistic free market place we live in and competing with the Larue mount right when ADM came out with the powered glass mounts. I am sure some know of at least a few other examples of this type bullying by one companies fans over another new competitor. ADM stands currently on its high footing in the industry imho because they clawed and scratched every inch to get there and let their product speak and defend itself. ADM is a true class act w. top tier service and products.

it's a new compM4 mount from BOBRO engineering, looks really awesome. any reason why to choose the ADM aimpoint mount over this one?

if not, i'll be ordering it soon!

The things I can think of are: 1. The Bobro may weigh more. 2. I believe the ADM has a much larger 'surface contact' area at the securing point than the Bobro. With that being said, I just about ordered the Bobro 30mm last week but I ended up with the AD-Recon. Honestly, between the two it just came down to looks.

Had a guy decide to ditch his ADM mount this weekend's match after it kept loosening during his strings of fire. He had it tightened as tight as he could get it, but it still kept loosening.

    Shouldn't matter.

Either way, I got 3rd place at a shoot yesterday with my ADM. I took it off several times to show people before I ran the course... and needless to say, after I ran it, I had to take it off and show people some more. The final 3 targets of the rifle portion were 3" hostage swingers at 50, 75 and 100yds. I hit all 3 with 3 shots. All after aborting the optic about 15 times before running the course.
