Ha! I know who this is.

I would suggest that you put a purchase on hold and ask friends and family if you could fire their ARs if you provide the ammo. This would allow you to figure out what you like/dislike and save you a lot of money in the longrun.

I'm sure you know someone who has a lot of experience in this area, and you should recognize his talents. There's no better training than personal one on one training. If this is something you don't want to persue, wait 1 year and talk to your brother!

Santoro you may be an industry professional and all but you've got it all wrong!! They are called Drill Sergeants not Drill Instructors. J/K

I guess I was lucky with the A4 as well. We had them all through OSUT at Benning in 2001.

Boot camp rifles are generally pretty beat up from all the scraping and BS cleaning practices, plus getting flung ass over teakettle onto concrete barracks decks by enrage Drill Instructors when they find them unsecured, or any number of heinous offenses committed by recruits.

Army dogs have drill sergeants. Marines have Drill Instructors...

And I like that lol, "Ass over teakettle".

We had a DI who took a recruits rifle (who was already struggling to qual on pre-qual day) and threw it down three flights of concrete stairs (Parris Island 2007 Golf Company) I have absolutely no idea how these guys don't break parts, the things I saw an A2 go through while at recruit training would make you think the rifle would be completely inoperable afterwards...

But they're not. They still qual at 500 yards and this happens to them 3 times a year...how???
