    I have two lowers with Geissele triggers - one with adjustable in DMR config and one SSA. My third lower has stock Colt trigger. I could easily live with stock, but I prefer Geissele. Total count is over 5000 so far without any major issues. The SSA went through MD Carbine II class, with attendant volume and rate of fire. The only little problem I had was trigger pin walk on DMR. Could've been to big of a hole on lower. Ended up using KNS pins which are not recommended to be used with adjustable Geissele but that was my only option.

    What benefits does a trigger of this type, whether single or two stage offer over the factory trigger? Lighter pull weight, shorter take-up, less overtravel, crisper break, better reset, all of the above?

    =============================

    I'm no expert but I have two SSA's that have never given me a problem. Like I said earlier, one is in a rifle that hasn't been cleaned in 1500 rounds and the trigger keeps on ticking.

    I was concerned about having a reliable trigger before I got the SSA's. I did a lot of talking to people and reading before I went to the SSA's and from what I understand they are stout enough and have proven to be "combat" rated(?). I guess that means people have shot a lot of rounds while not overly cleaning their guns and the SSA's didn't fail, lose settings, etc.? I've never read where a functioning SSA just up and failed.

    I've read that some people don't like a 2-stage trigger on a SD rifle. The reason I wanted one in each of my rifles is to keep me from getting "confused" by switching back and forth between single-stage and two-stage. Guys that have shot my rifles generally comment on how nice the trigger is and if I shoot someone else's, the trigger is the first thing I notice.

    My rifles were the most costly guns I've ever bought (OK, I'm tight...) and they are far from the most expensive AR's out there. I have enjoyed my AR's immensely. To me, there is not much more enjoyment with a gun than shooting well and getting good groups and if a trigger helps me get enjoyment out of my rifles... Oh well! Heck...got to find a way to get some enjoyment because everytime that trigger does it's job, I'm basically flicking a 25 cent piece down the range.

    So, I reckon "hardcore tactical" guys will think I'm compromising having SSA's installed in my basic KISS SD/HD rifles but I really think they have helped me shoot better and that makes me want to shoot more and that helps me shoot better...

    Maybe I'm giving a trigger too much credit! ... I do like them.

    If you suggest a product, state your experience with it. This should include how you got it, how long you've had it, how many rounds on it, in what environment, what your intended purpose is for the gun, etc.

    I would like to avoid "hey look at this" kind of posts if at all possible, or at least include a "I've never used it" if that's the case.
    Hey Rob_s good ideal !!! I have 3 ARs and all 3 have different triggers,, yea I know,,I want all SSA triggers,,but its always about the $$$,,, My 1st NON-Stock trigger was a Bushmaster NM & it went into my Bushy along time ago ! Its was my 1st AR and didn't know alot,,hell I didn't know anything,,LOL,,but it was my first non the less. The trigger worked good for along time,,probably 3 or 4 years and at least 4 or 5K rounds and all was fine,,just normal range work,,target stuff with a few Mad Minuets of fire every now & then. I noticed it started getting gritty and tough and then at a Carbine Shoot it doubled a few times,,, not good,,I had my AR buddy look at it and we just couldn't get it right,,so pulled it out ! Being a parts junky I just so happen to have a New RRA NM kicking around & I installed that. It has been at least 3 or more years with that trigger and it is still fine & I have done several Carbine shoots,,a couple informal Carbine Classes,,,5/600 Rd's for the day and lots of general range work. I would say that RRA trigger has at least 5K on it and it is still working fine !!! Hmmmm,maybe I got a good one,,,,I'll keep ya posted ! Also,,for the environment,,I live in Upstate NY & I shoot year round,,Winter,,Spring,,Summer,,Fall,,I don't get alot of gritty dust and such,,but get alot of extreme temps,with lots of High humidity,,I have shot in the dead of Winter in the snow,,etc,,with temps in the "teens' through the 20's and warmer. I have done a fair amount of of shooting in the rain also & the trigger has worked fine. I guess nothing really harsh,,,but its MY Environment and I deal with it as it comes,,LOL !!!

    On one of my other AR's I have the Geissele SSA trigger,I bought it because of the "Sticky" on this website () & it went into a New Build I completed in Late Winter,,Early Spring. I have about 1K rounds on it & it is awesome,,,,which most of us already know !!! its tough when you own multiple rifles,,,ya can only shoot one at a time I guess !! I have only had that trigger since late Winter with the above stated rounds,,so as far as a looooong term test goes I have not been there yet,,,but will keep plugging away with it ! But for $170 bucks its a great trigger & is doing well at the moment. Shooting environment has been pretty much as stated above,,but have not really had it wet yet,,but did some shooting in the cold with it and with it being lubed as stated in the directions,,it worked like a charm in 20/30 degree weather. More Rd's to come.

    My Last one is a LWRC Enhanced Fire Control Group,,, http://www.lwrci.com/p-39-fire-contr...-assembly.aspx I built my 14.5 Inch Barreled rifle & it just had a Standard CMMG LPK with standard trigger,,, I know not the best,,,but its what I started out with. I saw & bought the LWRC Trigger group from a fellow Forum member here that stated he got his New LWRC rifle home and promptly took out this group and replaced it with another,,anyways,,he offered it for a fair price & I bought it as new,,never been fired. I have it installed in the above rifle with about 1200 Rd's on it. The take up is normal,,but it seems pretty heavy on that first shot,,if I let it reset the 2nd shot it much better with no creep or take up,,really pretty decent !! With the stated rounds on it,,it is far from worn in or abused,,,I have shot 2 Carbine shoots with this rifle and total rounds for the day was about 300 each,,but spread out through a couple runs through the coarse and all in good normal Summer,,sunny day weather,,with some shots prone & Urban prone,,so some dust & dirt flying around,,but nothing to bad !! I guess the jury is still out on the Fire Control Group,,need more trigger time for sure,,,but that should be easy,,this rifle seems to be the one I grab the most for right now,,so more rounds and info to come for sure,,,but for right now,,decent trigger group,,but for me it seems a bit on the heavy side.

    As far as my intended purpose for all my rifles,,they are my babies,,& I just love to build,,reload & shoot,,I'm a Old Fart,,but still like to get out and run them alot. Most of my shooting is fun stuff,with some informal Carbine Shoots tossed in during the Summer,but I always try to shoot & have a "Purpose" for my intended range time,,so with that said,,,I mix it up pretty good with some bench time when I have a New Load or type of ammo & then shootin & movin at both paper & steel targets. Most range sessions I shoot between 100/300 rds.

    Well hopefully this is what ya wanted Rob,,& hopefully I didn't ramble on to long,,, This is a great thread & I'm sure tons of good info will come from it !!!!
