Actually the effect wasn't bad when I was under the covered firing line, but as I stepped out into bright sun and the fiber optic kicked in, the multiple reticles leaping out at me made me nearly keel over.

As far as the laser and the rest, I'm sure everybody is getting something different. I just thought it interesting that my eyes seem to distort images identically, regardless of their having different sources.

2 - I wonder if EVERYONE sees that same on the wall that you're talking about. Granted, this pic is a little exaggerated:

but I think everyone sees that... we just also get it when looking at an eotech. But is yours different? (hard to describe, like talking color to a blind man)
If I saw the image on the right on my wall I'd give "The Ring" back

This got me curious, so I set out several of the weaker reading glasses that have collected over the past few years. Surprisingly, the very weakest pair totally cleaned-up the Eotech reticle. I hadn't seen it that crisp since the first Eotech I bought nearly a decade ago. None of the other glasses worked as well, with increasing strength making the image more blurred.

Based on this, I'm now seriously considering finally getting the T1 I've always wanted. 4 MOA will work just fine for me, so long as I can see a single crisp dot.

I also was surprised how much variation there was among glasses supposedly having the same strength (most of these were rated "125"). They are mostly just cheap drug-store crap though, and obviously no quality control in the manufacture. The pair that works best with the Eotech are Foster Grants, if that means anything.

ETA -- Just put-in for a T1 from Grant, along with the DD mount. Shall report back once received and evaluated.

    Tired eyes are worse

I worked fifteen hours yesterday, not quite a double, and came home to see the UPS fairy left me a package. At 0100 I tore into it and took out the new M4 Aimpoint I traded my H1 towards. The dot looked like a comma at best or an l at worst. I thought it was because I was so tired. This morning the 2 MOA dot looked alot more like a dot. I tried another M4 at my local gun shop and the dot looked even better.

Is it just my imagination or have you all noticed a difference between scopes?

I have noticed that the more tired my eyes the more super nova and the lower the light (indoors) the more super nova. Outside day time looks great and at night I just do not wear RX. The bloom/supernova I experience at night would not interfere with practical accuracy for the distances I can see in low light. I have astigmatism and then some, but would not trade my M4S for the world

Actually that is not too far off. That is an excellent example. Do you mind if I save your photo for reference?

T1 arrived last week. Have since taken it out for some plinking the 8-inch plate at 200 yards. The glasses sharpen-up the dot plenty well enough for making hits just as reliably as with the Eotech, and with a lot less weight and bulk.

Thanks to Grant for getting the T1 and DD mount to me w/in a week of placing the order. As an M4 member, I also received a very nice Surefire E2L on-the-house -- Gandrtactical doin' us guud!
