The Rep. from Leupold wouldn't say much at all. He spent most of the time telling how great the newest version of the MK 4 1.5-5 MRT with the new updated illumination module/ reticle is now.

I asked him about the scope because I saw several retailers listing the (1.5-5 MRT) scope as discontinued (Midway was one) and presumed that if that was the case then something new was on its way out in addition to the 1-8X model. -He says it's not being discontinued BTW.

Maybe one of the optics guys (J. Feuer), knows something more. Just conjecture on my part, but I would have thought that if some newer scopes were on there way out something would've been unveiled at SHOT.

P.S. When I was going through the Leupold website, I saw this model and was thinking maybe something will be released based on the 30mm tube with the 24mm objective lense. I have seen this scope in person and it is a nice piece of glass. -just a guess/ have no idea

If leupold could produce a true 1-4x or 1-6x, I'd drop some coin.

The S&B 1-8 Now shows up on the front page of the .de website, as well as in both the zenith and PM line. Still nothing on the US website...

Nothing to note on the websites of the others either. Leupold has nothing that I could find. Premier has nothing on the main site, just the original PDF under the technical section.

My fear is that ahh, the whole island will ahh, become so overly populated, that it will tip over and ahh, and capsize...

Looks like the Premier V8 1.1-8x24mm has hit store shelves.

That advertisement has been on the Optics Planet website for a couple of weeks. I called them last week and they claimed a 2-week turnaround to get it in stock. I highly doubt this since none of the Premier deals have it, and they claim early 2011 for a release.

I'd heard rumors that the Leupold offering was going to be priced in the outrageous category. Looks to be true. I can't imagine they'll sell many of these at $4k per copy, not on an optic designed for a CQB AR-15 type weapon.

LOL!!! That better come with one heck of a happy ending.

Who would have thought a Leupold would be $400 more than a Premier.

    Outageous.....
